Activewear Collection Planning and Branding Strategy
The client came to us with a logo, visual references, and an idea for a coordinated activewear and essentials collection. The concept included leggings, long-sleeve tops, hoodies, joggers, T-shirts, and a branded cap. Our first task was to turn this broad creative direction into a practical product selection that could be evaluated before moving into custom production.
We sourced catalog samples across the selected categories so the client could assess the fabrics, fit, proportions, and overall feel of the collection in physical form.
The samples were reviewed against the client’s requested garment lengths and visual references. This helped us identify which product characteristics could support the intended brand direction and which details would need to be refined for future production.
Branding required a separate technical decision. The client initially wanted the logo applied directly to the samples, including highly elastic leggings.
Our team determined that printing on finished stretch garments could cause uneven placement and distortion. Instead, we developed a production-focused solution: applying the logo to individual fabric panels before garment assembly.
This method provides better control over positioning, alignment, and the final appearance of the branding.
Before shipment, the samples were measured, photographed from multiple angles, and reviewed on a mannequin.
We evaluated:
garment length and proportions;
fit across the selected styles;
fabric stretch and recovery;
waistband and seam construction;
potential logo placement;
suitability for further product development.
The unbranded samples were then delivered to the client for a direct evaluation of fit, fabric, and overall product direction.
By separating product evaluation from final branding, we gave the client a clearer foundation for the next stage: selecting the strongest models, refining the required measurements, and preparing the logo application for production.
The result was more than a collection of catalog samples. It was a practical development direction built around real garments, informed decisions, and a technically sound branding strategy.
From visual references to physical evaluation. A clearer path toward a cohesive branded collection.
