Complex Knit Engineering and Production-Focused Design
The client approached us with a concept for a fitted knit maxi dress featuring a distinctive pattern and a soft, structured cowl neck.
Once the client had reviewed the physical swatches and selected the material direction, our team began developing the technical package.
Special attention was given to:
the proportions of the fitted silhouette
the shape and volume of the cowl neck
front slit placement
waist construction
dress and sleeve length
measurements across sizes S–XL
stretch recovery and shape retention
The client reviewed the technical package and provided additional feedback. After the requested revisions were made, the construction details and size specifications were approved.
To recreate the pattern, we evaluated two production methods: printing onto the finished knit and integrating the design directly through jacquard knitting.
The printed option required a custom printing plate, an additional production stage, and greater material waste. Jacquard knitting allowed the pattern to be created directly during the knitting process, providing a more consistent result and a more efficient production solution.
Following further consultation, the client selected jacquard construction, provided the fabric offered strong stretch recovery and retained its original shape.
The final outcome was a complete technical foundation for a 60-piece collection, with the design ready to move into sampling.
Distinctive concept. Precise knit engineering. Ready for sampling.
