Step 1. Collection Planning and Production Feasibility

The client wanted to develop a coordinated activewear capsule consisting of four core styles: a performance jacket; leggings; a sports bra; an athletic T-shirt. The collection was intended to combine a consistent visual identity with the fit, stretch, support, and durability required for performance apparel. Before moving into sampling, the project needed a clear technical foundation and a realistic production strategy. Our first task was to define the requirements for each garment and assess how the intended order volume would affect material development and manufacturing options.

Step 2. Specialist Tech Pack Development

Because activewear requires precise control of fit, stretch, seam placement, and construction, the technical documentation was assigned to a specialist with experience developing performance apparel for the U.S. market.
A separate tech pack was created for each of the four styles. The documentation translated the initial product direction into clear manufacturing requirements, including:
garment construction;
measurement specifications;
seam and finishing details;
fabric performance requirements;
branding placement;
technical drawings and production notes.
Developing each style individually ensured that the jacket, leggings, sports bra, and T-shirt could perform as a coordinated collection while meeting the functional requirements of their respective categories.
All four completed tech packs were delivered to the client for the next stage of development.

Step 3. Material Direction and Scalable Production Planning

Alongside the technical documentation, our team sourced physical fabric options for the collection.
The client wanted to compare materials across several weights and evaluate how each option could perform in different garments. We therefore prepared suitable fabrics for hands-on review, including polyester options for the athletic T-shirt and stretch materials for the supporting styles.
The selected fabric direction could later be produced in different weights to meet the specific requirements of each garment once the final production volume was confirmed.
We also evaluated the relationship between material customization and MOQ. Rather than presenting an unrealistic low-volume solution, the project established a practical path toward production quantities that could support custom fabric development and consistent quality across the capsule.
The fabric swatches were shipped to the client together with the completed technical direction, allowing the materials to be assessed for:
weight and density;
stretch and recovery;
surface texture;
comfort against the skin;
suitability for each product category.
The result was a complete pre-production foundation for a four-piece activewear capsule: four specialist tech packs, coordinated material options, and a clearer strategy for scaling the collection into manufacturing.
Four performance styles. One technical system. A stronger foundation for scalable production.
