Developing a Minimalist Women’s Set Through Technical Design and Fabric Sourcing
The client approached Fashion Atlas with a concept for a minimalist women’s set consisting of a top and trousers. She provided several visual references and her main design requirements.
The client responded positively to the comfort of the fabric and the concealed strap construction. The fitting also helped identify several areas to refine before production.
She requested:
a denser, more structured fabric;
a higher cotton content;
a lower trouser rise;
an improved zipper and double closure;
functional pockets;
a cleaner top without ruching or visible stitching.
Rather than continuing to revise the design from reference images alone, Fashion Atlas moved the project into a more structured development phase. A garment technician created a complete tech pack with revised construction, fit specifications, and front and back views of both pieces.
The client approved the new tech pack and paid the deposit for the next stage of development.
Our team then sourced premium fabric options that could provide greater structure, a better fit, and the clean, minimalist finish she wanted.
Before producing the final sample, the client chose to assess the materials in person. The approved swatches were sent to Finland so she could evaluate their weight, composition, texture, and hand feel.
The first sample ultimately developed into a production-ready concept supported by an approved design, a professional tech pack, and carefully selected premium fabrics.
From an initial visual idea and first fitting to a precise specification and a more refined product.
