Project Overview

Step 1. Building the Assortment

The client planned to expand her assortment with evening dresses in a range of styles, colors, and sizes. Fashion Atlas Group coordinated with the suppliers, consolidated the goods at one warehouse, inspected the products, and prepared the order for shipment. Since the dresses came from different sources, confirming quantities and order details was only part of the process. Our team also needed to evaluate the actual appearance, fit, and sizing of each garment.

Step 2. Inspecting the Actual Products

Once the dresses arrived, our team examined each style and compared it with the original product photos. Fit and sizing were also checked on a dress form.
The inspection revealed that several dresses did not match expectations. Some styles were too loose to create the intended fitted evening silhouette.
More serious quality issues also emerged. One dress shed a significant amount of glitter. Another had mismatched fabric shades and missing decorative elements. A third garment had a noticeably different skirt shape from the one shown in the product photos.
These problems could not be resolved through cleaning, steaming, minor alterations, or relabeling. As a result, 15 unsuitable dresses were returned to the suppliers rather than included in the client’s shipment.

Step 3. Preparing the Order

For the excluded styles, our team identified possible alternatives and requested photos of the actual garments to reduce the risk of encountering the same issues again.
The remaining dresses passed inspection and were prepared for international delivery. The main part of the order was shipped without waiting for the unsuitable styles, preventing a few problem items from delaying the entire collection.

Final Result

Fashion Atlas Group identified the discrepancies before the order left the warehouse. Garments with critical defects were returned to the suppliers, while only inspected dresses were included in the shipment.
Following the shipment, the client asked Fashion Atlas Group to source another selection of products.
Every dress looked ready for sale in the product photos. An in-person inspection revealed which ones actually met the requirements.
