Step 1. Fabric Selection and Performance Strategy

For this project, the client requested custom athletic shorts designed for comfort, movement, and everyday training.

We began by selecting a lightweight performance fabric with stretch, moisture management, and quick dry properties. Since activewear must perform under stress, we tested fabric recovery, breathability, and color durability before approval.

We defined: • waistband construction with elastic and drawcord • length and side curve shape for mobility • pocket placement and depth • overall silhouette balance

Step 2. Construction Engineering and Fit Development

Activewear requires precise engineering to allow unrestricted movement.

We developed a flexible waistband structure that provides secure fit without pressure. The curved side hem was carefully shaped to enhance range of motion while maintaining a flattering athletic silhouette.

We tested:
• seam strength under stretch
• waistband elasticity retention
• stitch durability during movement
• comfort during high activity

All construction details were refined to balance durability and lightweight comfort.

Step 3. Sampling, Performance Testing and Final Approval

Once samples were completed, we conducted wear testing to evaluate comfort and functionality.

We reviewed:
• mobility during training
• waistband stability
• fabric recovery after stretching
• seam integrity
• overall proportion and balance

Adjustments were applied where needed to optimize fit and performance.

The final result was a clean, functional pair of athletic shorts built for real movement and long term durability.
