Developing a Production-Ready Design Without an Existing Tech Pack
The project began with an idea for a custom hoodie and several visual references, but no existing tech pack, patterns, or final material specifications.
Sample development began with a 380 GSM fabric selected for the first version. The finished garment gave the client an opportunity to evaluate the fit in person and see how the material performed within the proposed design.
The fitting showed that the sleeve and shoulder construction needed further refinement. The fabric also lacked the structure required to hold the intended hood shape. Rather than beginning another sample with unconfirmed specifications, our team collected the client’s detailed feedback, presented new fabric options, and revised the patterns.
After a new material was selected, an updated sample was developed. To ensure that the unusual construction was executed accurately, a Fashion Atlas Group specialist personally cut and sewed the revised sample. This made it possible to achieve the required sleeve shape, shoulder line, and overall silhouette.
Following several final adjustments, the client approved the updated design, and the project moved into production planning.
Once the revised design was approved, the project moved into a 100-piece production run covering three sizes and multiple colors. The next stage required a detailed size and color breakdown, custom manufacturing of the main fabric, printing the hood lining, completing two embroidery applications, and preparing the branded labels.
Packaging created an additional challenge. The supplier could produce bags at the required quality only with a minimum order of 1,000 pieces, far more than the production run required. Our team proposed a more practical solution using branded ribbon, preserving the product’s identity without committing the client to unnecessary packaging inventory.
Fabric production minimums also affected the available quantity in each color. The color breakdown was adjusted according to the actual fabric yield while keeping the total order at 100 pieces.
Before shipment, every garment received a size label, an English-language fiber-content label, and an individual barcode. The finished hoodies were packed into shipping cartons, labeled with box information, and inspected before leaving the factory.
Final Result
Fashion Atlas Group developed a production-ready hoodie from visual references and completed a bulk order of 100 custom pieces.
The hoodies were produced in multiple colors and three sizes, with custom-printed hood lining, embroidery, branded labels, and coordinated packaging details. All 100 pieces passed final quality control before being delivered to the warehouse.
It began with reference images. It ended with a fully developed product and 100 finished hoodies.
